This vinyl Alien toy by Medicon Toys has to be the most adorable Xenomorph I’ve ever seen. You know, if you’d asked me if H.R. Giger’s perverse xenosexual alien designs could be transformed into cute bobbleheads and shrunk down to eight inches high while maintaining their phallic, skeletal monstrosity, I’d have told you it couldn’t [...]

Even though the Indiana Jones films were Lucasfilm productions, I don’t remember the original 3 featuring as extensive a marketing or product tie-in push as the Star Wars films did, but it seems they’re going to make up for that with the 4th Indiana Jones film that’s set to hit theaters in less than a [...]

While I’ve always been a very big fan of Rubik’s Magic Cube, I have not solved it yet. Not even trying this one, really. Until today. Why I didn’t think about this before, I don’t know, but that felt oh-so-good.

I definitely feel that developing a healthy imagination is important for kids, and what better way to do so than by playing make-believe? When I was a kid, we ran around pretending we were spies, ninjas, astronauts and even transforming robots. You know, things that were fun, but it seems today’s kids are being forced [...]

Kids’ toys that make goo aren’t new, but the Discovery Polymer Lab takes that age-old tradition to its nerdy conclusion, teaching kids about long chain molecules and the physics of slime. Ingredients are included to make distinct slime, ooze, and foam from water and powder. Plus it’s got the Kid Frankenstein mad scientist look down [...]

Like remote control planes requiring wide open spaces, RC water toys are only fun if you have access to a large body of water. And a bathtub does not quality as a “large body of water” no matter how small the toy is. (Unless you’ve got a bathtub like that Francis kid had in Pee-wee’s [...]

Hallowe’en is just around the corner, and if your kids have chosen a Star Wars theme for their costumes this flashlight will fit right in. Made to look like a cute version of Darth Vader, the flashlight has a handle on the back with a button to pop-up his mask and reveal the actual light.
Be [...]

Japanese toymaker Bandai’s Mugen Puchi-Puchi is a handheld electronic gizmo that makes the sound of popping bubblewrap when you press on the plastic bubbles.
From Mainichi Daily News: “…Once in every 100 squeezes of an air bubble, instead of emitting a ‘popping’ sound, the noise will be replaced by the sound of a fart or [...]

Today, Lego turns a ripe old age of 75. Founded in 1932 by carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen from Billund, Denmark, the company made wooden toys. The trademark name didn’t come until 1934, inspired from the Danish words “leg godt” (play well), and it wasn’t until 1949 that Lego began producing their now-famous interlocking bricks. The design [...]

Remember being a kid and thinking that sharks were the coolest thing ever?Newsflash. They. Still. Are. While you were settling down, growing mentally and physically soft, accepting the practicality of the three-piece suit and generally bending over to take one from society, sharks didn’t go anywhere. They were still kickin’ ass - shark style.

So, well, hey, there’s really no point trying to describe anything here. I mean, it’s Super Mario, and it’s a Rubik’s cube. If you don’t know why those two fit together like peanut butter and jelly, then maybe you should be reading another site. Perhaps the only thing I can add is that through the [...]

I’m pretty sure that kids of today won’t be that impressed by any of the classic View-Master models that was really cool when I was a kid. Here’s a whole site dedicated to View-Masters and other stereo viewer related material.

Aquapets are officially recommended for children ages 5 and up, but they look as if they should be labeled NC-17. BoingBoing points out the obvious phallicity factor here, but what about the backstory? You have to wonder how such a product gets stamped for approval when it directly resembles a giant trouser snake.
